This adapter plate serves a dual purpose.  Not only will it fit atop a 4x4 wood post for top-mounting capabilities, but it serves as a means to rotate a front-mount mailbox into the sideways formation which allows for the addition of a second mailbox on the Decorative Post front support bracket.
